As a sculptor, I am drawn to use the repertory of forms one finds in architecture - blocks, slabs, columns, turned shapes. The architectural slab often used for the surface decoration of a structure has inspired me to explore new forms of relief sculpture. Likewise, in my figurative work I explore the architecture of the body - the systems of thrusts, tensions, supports, and counterbalances in the living human figure that has its equivalents in all buildings.
